ABOUT ME

A vagabonds story
As a Mexican American I dreamed of being an artist and professor while attending art school in the Midwest. I witnessed zero representation of minorities like me in secondary institutions. I also attended art school during an era when professors could belittle their students with verbal abuse, and I wanted to be part of the change.

As an educator and photographer, I've traveled throughout North America and Europe exhibiting and lecturing on contemporary art. After twenty-five years of teaching, I wrote my first novel. I felt the same joy I had as a painter or while drawing. Writing was just another satisfying creative outlet of life as an artist.
